Hunting Photo + Video Shoot

Form the Storm - Prime Archery Video

“Form the Storm” started as a concept shoot with multiple complimentary brands and artists. The idea is to bring together brands that can benefit from similar content as well as cross promotion. The long form video, Form the Storm, features the title sponsor, Prime Archery and their new flagship hybrid bow as well as additional partner brands. Multiple cutdown videos for each brand as well as photos were then shared with all brands involved and launched on Prime Archery’s social channels and collaborated with the other partner brands.

The project was a heavy lift with Damon Wolfe @ All41 Creative Creative and Ricky Brule @ Vapor Trail.

This nine-month storytelling project with Ricky and Damon began in early summer with discussions for a November shoot and a February launch. Our initial focus was establishing clear roles, deliverables, finances, and revenue splits. While Damon and I had separately collaborated with Vapor Trail, this was our first joint venture. Committing over 100 hours with a new partner required significant trust and effort, ultimately forging strong relationships and memorable experiences. The project was a resounding success.

Following initial planning, we presented the concept to clients, explaining its alignment with their content strategy. Their brand was central to the project, while we focused on creating a compelling narrative.

Pre-production involved shoots at Vapor Trail, Dialed Archery, and Ricky’s residence over several days. Obtaining unreleased partner products, particularly the bow, created a typical last-minute scramble.

The planned shoot was interrupted by a snowstorm, highlighting the challenges of real-world production. While storyboarding is straightforward, the actual creation of art is demanding. However, these very obstacles – the highs and lows, the challenges and triumphs, enduring harsh conditions, and the pursuit of elusive moments – contribute to a compelling story.

Despite being a demanding, frustrating, and exhausting endeavor, this project was incredibly rewarding, an experience I value far more than sitting in my studio. I am eager to further explore this concept with new clients.
